The course provides basic information about the microbial world focusing on the biological activities of microbes. It includes the study of pathogenic microorganisms, the disease caused by them, epidemiology, transmission of pathogens, prevention measures, control of microbial growth, and the body's defenses against diseases as well as the many beneficial roles of microbes.


This course deals with the principles of heredity and variation; in plant and animal breeding; and problems involved in it. It also includes mechanism of cytogenetics, mutation, nature of genes, population genetics, quantitative genetics, human genetics and evolutionary genetics; biometrical procedures.

This course deals with the study of the human body in terms of its adaptations, structural framework, with emphasis on the physiology regulations’ adaptive mechanisms. It employs strategies which integrates lecture with laboratory exercises and techniques necessary in clinical situations.
