MMA 111 – Introduction to Multimedia Arts is a foundational course that introduces students to the field of multimedia arts and its various forms of digital and traditional media. The subject explores the principles, concepts, tools, and creative processes involved in producing multimedia content for communication, entertainment, education, and business purposes.
Throughout the course, students learn the fundamentals of visual design, digital imaging, graphic design, photography, video production, animation, and interactive media. Emphasis is placed on creativity, design thinking, storytelling, and the effective use of multimedia technologies to communicate ideas and messages.
The course also familiarizes students with industry-standard software, multimedia production workflows, and the ethical and professional responsibilities of multimedia artists. By the end of the subject, students are expected to understand the role of multimedia arts in modern society and develop basic skills needed for advanced studies and creative projects in the multimedia arts field.
