Physical Education is a vital part of an individual’s life. This course
includes the strategies in teaching of rules and skills acquisition in the
different individual and dual sports/games and recreational activities.
Further, since physical education is an activity-oriented subject, suggested
learning activities and drills necessary for the learning and development of
the different sports skills accompany each of the lessons presented. Evaluative
measures are also designed to monitor students’ learning in the cognitive as
well as psychomotor domain of learning. Ideally, the course covers
internationally played sports and games namely, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis,
Badminton, Swimming, Taekwondo and Bowling and local combative sport Arnis.
However, due to limited or no available facilities and equipment in the school
only three (3) selected sports/games such as Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis and
Badminton are offered.
